• I haven't danced before, do you think I will keep up in class?

Yes, of course! Not everyone in the class has had previous dance experience. We encourage all lovers of dance to join us.! What we all have in common is a shared passion for how dance makes us feel and what it does for our physical and mental health.

Our classes run at a pace where the majority of the dancers feel comfortable with the choreography while still being challenged and having fun.

  • What does "Foundations" mean?

We call our classes “foundation classes” as it means going back to traditional dance techniques and basics to help you feel comfortable in our classes.

For ‘old skool’ previous dancers this means incorporating steps you may have learned as a dancer ‘back in the day’ and for our new dancers, this means teaching you correct technique and ‘foundations’ of the style to assist you in mastering your dance class.

Every class will incorporate a warm up, a choreographed dance routine and a cool down.

  • Why are your classes aimed at the 35+ age bracket?

Good question! We found that many adult dance classes today are taught by amazing, younger dance professionals, however, most of today’s choreography is not designed for mature dance students.

As we age, our body moves, feels and operates differently from when we were younger. We take into consideration that our body now needs functional movement as we age, including little to no floor choreography, no crazy back bends and certainly no steps that will have you hurting for days!

  • What do I wear to class?

    There are no rules!

Dance is a vulnerable form of expression, so please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable clothing wise.

For Heels/Cabaret, we understand that wearing heels can be intimidating, but don't worry - it's completely optional. If you do decide to wear heels in our cabaret classes, our dance instructors recommend starting with low comfortable heels, cabaret or chorus shoes with a heel height of 2 inches. These shoes will help you maintain your balance and provide the support you need to dance with confidence.
And as you progress in your dance journey, we encourage you to gradually increase your heel height. This will help prevent injuries and ensure that you're able to dance safely and comfortably.

For our Jazz/Commercial classes, you can go barefoot, wear sneakers or Dancer’s Jazz shoes. Please feel free to wear what is comfortable on your foot and the dance flooring.

  • Where abouts is your Studio?

Our dance classes are situated in the new Meridan Community Centre on Spring Drive in Meridan Plains, Sunshine Coast

The dance studio is on the right-hand side as you walk through the entrance of the Centre.

There is plenty of parking on site.

The studio is equipped with professional dance flooring for comfort, full-length mirrors and a speaker to pump out all our great tunes!

  • Anything else I should know?

Our aim is to share our love for dance with our students. We simply just want you to enjoy yourself and be a part of our supportive dance community.

Payments are to be made via Cash or Bank Transfer only at this point in time. Our classes are $18 for one or $32 for two classes on the same night.

Unfortunately, no children are allowed in the dance studio during class. We may be playing inappropriate music or indulging in the odd risque move, so we ask that children do not attend class with you.

We also have a private Instagram account where you can join our community. We keep this page private so only our members can see our content shared throughout the week.
